The usual recommended dosage of Protonix for gastro esophageal reflux disease with history of erosive esophagitis is 40 mg per day up to 8 weeks (40 mg twice a day is also recommended in people with excess acid production).

Protonix is usually stored at room temperature (20-25 degrees C) away from heat, direct light, moisture, children and pets.

• Diarrhea or nausea and dry mouth,

While serious side effects of Protonix include

• Weakness or tiredness and sore throat,
• Yellowing of eyes and skin or fever,
• Unusual bruising and redness or blistering of mouth.
